Mental health an issue for small business owners
Small business owners are being encouraged to recognise the importance of mental health in the workplace.
Small business owners are being encouraged to recognise the importance of mental health in the workplace.
Running your own business can be a highly stressful experience, especially with the long hours that are required and the demands that your business brings.
The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has been working with mental health support services, small business owners and representatives to develop a greater level of support for those that have been affected by mental health issues.
The ATO is open to help small business owners who are experiencing mental health issues, and those that are struggling to meet their tax and super commitments.
The ATO can help by:
- Arranging a tailored payment plan
- Deferring your lodgements or payments
For more information on understanding the early warning signs of mental health issues, please visit the ATO website.
