Master Your Employer Obligations in 2025
Start the year with confidence and let TaxAssist Accountants handle your employer obligations for you.
If you employ staff, there are key deadlines and responsibilities you must meet throughout the year. With TaxAssist Accountants by your side, you can ensure compliance, avoid penalties, and focus on running your business.
Super Guarantee (SG)
- SG payments are due quarterly on 28 January, 28 April, 28 July, and 28 October.
- The SG rate is currently 11.5% of an employee’s ordinary time earnings and will increase to 12% from 1 July 2025.
- Payments must be made in full, on time, and to the correct super fund to avoid penalties.
- If payments are late, an SG charge (SGC) statement must be lodged, and the charge paid to the ATO.
How we can help
TaxAssist Accountants will ensure your SG obligations are met accurately and on time, preventing costly penalties.
Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT)
- The FBT year ends on 31 March 2025.
- Employers must:
- Identify if any fringe benefits have been provided.
- Determine the taxable value and assess FBT liability.
- Lodge an FBT return and pay any FBT owed by 21 May 2025 (or 25 June 2025 if lodged electronically by us).
- Maintain accurate records to support your FBT position.
How we can help
We take the complexity out of FBT by assessing your liability, lodging your return, and ensuring you claim all available exemptions and reductions.
Pay As You Go (PAYG) Withholding
- You must withhold the correct amount of tax from employee wages and pay it to the ATO.
- This ensures your employees meet their tax obligations at year-end.
- Your payroll software, ATO tax tables, or online calculators can help, but why not let us handle it for you?
How we can help
We’ll take care of PAYG calculations, reporting, and payments, ensuring full compliance.
Single Touch Payroll (STP)
- Finalise your STP data by 14 July 2025 for the 2024–25 financial year.
- Employees need this information to lodge their tax returns correctly.
- Closely held payees may have a later due date.
- Ensure all employees paid during the financial year are included.
How we can help
TaxAssist Accountants can process your payroll, manage STP reporting, and ensure your obligations are met stress-free.
