One of our recent success stories involved a client who faced extraordinary challenges between 2020 and 2022. After navigating a very difficult divorce while raising teenage children, the company director also had to contend with the devastating impacts of COVID-19 on personal health, finances, and business.
During this period, the company’s accounting was transferred to a new accountant, and unfortunately, BAS lodgements were not completed on time. This oversight led to the ATO contacting the company director in October 2024, notifying the late lodgement penalties exceeding $60,000 plus general interest charges. The news came as a complete shock, adding to an already overwhelming situation.
In February 2025, she engaged our Neutral Bay office for assistance. Our team carefully reviewed her situation, liaised with the ATO, and worked to achieve the best possible outcome on her behalf.
We are proud to share that by April 2025, we successfully secured a full remission of all late lodgement penalties and interest charges - totalling over $75,000.
This result not only provided significant financial relief but also gave our client renewed peace of mind and a clean foundation to move forward personally and professionally.
